The Ignite Technical Institute prepares students for college and careers with a focus in welding, construction, and electrical.

Academic Focus & Work-based Learning

• Students may spend four years on campus taking welding classes that allow them not only marketable skills, but also an associate’s degree from Coastal Bend College.

• In their junior and senior years, students will do internships in welding.

• Students may also achieve NCCER Core certifications in construction and electrical.

Coursework & Certifications

• Ignite Technical Institute offers the Foundation Diploma with an endorsement in Manufacturing

• Dual Enrollment is available in Welding, English, US History, Government, College Algebra, Speech, Art Appreciation, and BCIS

• Certifications:

  • Electrical Apprenticeship Certificate Level 1

• Certificates through Coastal Bend College

• Marketable skill achievement award, Fundamentals level 1 of welding in SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, and level 2 of Welding
